St.Petersburg has turned out to become my home physically and mentally. I will certainly add pics, information and stories to this page but first please see few pictures of the Catherine palace in city of Pushkin around 25 km Sout-East of St.Petersburg. |
The palace is surrounded by large park areas and here you may (hardly) see the palace between the bridge. |
Peter and Paul's Fortress. This is where the city started (if not taken into consideration that small summer house of Peter the Great nearby) and defended itseld many times succesfully. I can never stop wondering these "sea dogs" taking sun when the others are walking with real winter clothing. |
White Nights on Neva-river. From middle to end of June the nights are relative light even at early morning hours and around 8-9 months a year the bridges are opened (for vessels-cloesd for cars...) at night time for few hours. Lot of people like watching this! Foe me it is more like headache as wiling to drive to/from home you are forced to wait for few hours and in the night time there is usually better things to do than sit in the car and wait for bridges closing/opening. |
