Statue of Ganesha at Prambanan

Statue of Ganesha, the Hindu god of wisdom and learning with the elephant head, inside one of the temples. Ganesha is portrayed here with one of the items commonly associated with him: a bowl of sweets from which he is eating with his trunk.

Relief, Prambanan

Relief carved in stone. Pictured is a man who was reborn as a monster due to crimes committed in a previous life - notice the horrible face on his belly! - begging his comrades to shoot him. The concept of rebirth is something that Buddhism and the religious tradition of Hinduism hold in common, it's called 'samsara' in Hinduism.
