contrasts | Daffodils and limestone mountain, Valle de Pineta. |
Daffodils and limestone mountain, Valle de Pineta. These flowers are Asphodelus albus, (Asphodele blanc, in French). Thanks to Vter Nada 1712 who suggested these are not daffodils (and she was right, as the usual daffodils are not at all these flowers, but my dictionaries returned "daffodil" for Asphodele. . . ),I looked more in depth to find an appropriate common name; it is also called King's stick (baton royal). I remember exactly the place and time I took this photo. . . . |
| Camelia Pau, January 2007 |
| | Flowers do not feed !! Poor camelia, wanted to bloom for the Nature in January! Nature replied with a snowfall and the Camelia died soon. Like when someone offers flowers and gets a response like: flowers don't feed me!! I hardly can believe a Don Quijotte offers flowers to a Dulcinea to feed her!! |
| | Chameau ! Ooops, I changed my hairdressing style! I am just back from the Takla Makan Desert and the locals convinced me for a new way of combing my hair. Oh! Leyle, do not take the following remarks in a bad sense, these are general remarks and I laugh about myself and like to appear myself as a camel! (for some time, hihi) Chameau! In French it is a stupid and a bit a stubborn person. Du Kamel!, in German, stupidity is more pronounced than in French, and some German who know me well may think it applies very well to my person. . . Camel has not that bad connotation in English. How about other languages? I am myself very proud to appear as a nicely combed camel with kohol underling my eyes! Hahaha! |

kikalena Tue Aug 19, 2008 16:03 UTC very beautiful opening photo in your HP. Hope to build my pages about Russia soon. I'm also jealous of your Pyrenean trip.I've always wanted to see this mountain range! Cheers! | toonsarah Mon Aug 18, 2008 10:55 UTC Came back to read your HP properly and enjoyed and was fascinated by it in equal measure. So much of what you say rings true for me, though I confess to liking the security of a (well-chosen) group travel experience at times | diosh Thu Jul 31, 2008 10:31 UTC Hiya.
