Kaua'i's other topographical marvel!! | Waimea Canyon - Kaua'i - 2006 |
Waimea Canyon was forged from volcanic activity and erosion. It is arguably the most scenic canyon in the world. Mark Twain dubbed it the "Grand Canyon of the South Pacific." Waimea Canyon is also home to the wettest spot on Earth. Mount Waialeale captures over 420 inches of rainfall annually. The following shots were taken near sunset in August, 2006. We were very lucky there was no fog or major cloud cover. The hues and contrasts in the canyon late in the day is spectacular!! This is another MUST SEE if you visit Kaua'i. |

|  | This is a magnificent shot of Waipo'o Falls located within Waimea Canyon. We were about 2 miles from this photo shot. The road was very quiet and we could hear the falls at the time we took this photo. What an amazing sight and sound. Waipo'o Falls is 800 feet high. |

Hi Matt! We're back from Utah. It was incredible. We hiked 50 miles in 6 days and took about 835 pictures. We need a vacation to recover from our vacation. :-) |
