Maypole Dancing | The maypole dancers of Horringer |
When I was a child I would take part in the village fete each year as a maypole dancer. Now that was a while ago, and now they are using slightly older dancers...!
The rather smart maypole with its red, white and blue ribbons was originally acquired to celebrate the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977. (And yes I was one of the first to dance round it back then!)

Village Show Every year on the same day as the Horringer village show the Village show is held. The show is for fruit, veg, flowers, baking and 'arts and crafts'.
Although usually high scoring my mother failed to win a prize with her baking this year! | | | Non prize winning shortbread! |
