so much has been written about pompei, i am sure i don't have a bit to add. but that doesn't make the trip to it less interesting. take a train from naples and you'll end up in another world in less than 30 minutes. make sure you have lot of water. even in cooler days it can get hot...
takes about 2-4 hrs to tour and forever to remember...

counter top at old tavern. they had hole where they kept the cheesse, the wine, the olives... and what i lovely fresco!

i was impressed by the fact that they instaled stepping stones every so many meters on the streets. they helped people cross without getting into the rainy mud and dirt...and the horse and buggies still coud go tru..

lovely court yeard and a small shrine at the hosue of teh tragic poet...

for good luck and fertility...

at least it felt this way.. :)
