Since our first encounter at Camp Bonet, our friendships with Toni and Odon had grown, by internet and phone... and so, they invited us to stay with them in Palma for my birthday in February.
Such a warm welcome we received! Our first night was spent chatting, recounting festie memories and listening to the F.I.B. music from the last summer... all while sipping vino, and tasting tapas... delighting in the flavours of home-made sobrasada, a local traditional sausage paste...mmmm, delicioso! |

A wander around in town in Palma for an afternoon in February was a real delight... no feeling of tourist town, which is always nice... and a real pretty free feeling... the trees were a wonder - each one growing so independently with a real sense of spirit, in spite of the man-made roads and walkways surrounding them... we found a magical olive tree in the centre of town, whose trunk appeared to form the shape of a man's face, like a Dali-esque sculpture.... it's roots sat simply 'perching' on the ground, yet still flourishing... |
Las montañas The island of Mallorca has many, many, beautiful mountains. Juan had never been to mountains before, so this was particularly exciting for him... we went with Toni on the day of my birthday for a wonderful walk up to the top of a mountain with some old castle ruins and a small chapel. | | | Mi Juanito con una bellota para mí |

| | Overlooking the mountain landscape... Taking in the nature and surrounding beauty was awe-inspiring, and so we took our time!! When we returned back down, we went to a wonderful cosy restaurant halfway down for some really rustic traditional Mallorcan cooking... fantastic!! |
