I have created this album in memory of a ferry trip from Tangier to Algeciras in Feb 2005. That day it was the only ship which left the Tangier port. The weather was terrible. I have never seen such a scary storm and such a lot of sick people. The waves were so high, that the evacuation of people from destructed places was impossible. I was almost beaten by... a table. My rescue was a quick escape under another table.
When we approached Algeciras in Spain, the captain came to see how things look like. He was almost crying.
It was one of the moments in my life I was really frightened.
Pictures shown below do not show exact situation. There were made when I could get up and move, I mean some half an hour after evacuation started and the crew made the board enough tidy to exist.
But these pictures I treat as a symbol of the event I will never forget. |
