42) Beijing(China) VT Meeting : August 2 2006

After meeting up at the lobby of Grand Hyatt Beijing hotel, we moved to Dongzhimen area by taxi. It's really an energetic area! Many restaurants, many people here and there....
Victoria had chosen Hua Jia's Restaurant for us! Thank you very much for your great choice, Vicky! The restaurant uses Chinese houses and their courtyard, so I felt as if we were sitting in a Chinese garden. We ate delicious Chinese dishes...especially the roasted duck is wonderful! Very sweet and juicy!
It was a great fun to talk and eat together :-)
Kiki said this was her first VT meeting... I hope she liked it and she will have many in the future :-) I'm happy because she joined the meeting and I hope she is having a great time during her China trip.
May and I had been VT friends for a long time and I couldn't believe this was our first time to meet each other. She will visit Japan this autumn and we are looking forward to seeing her soon!
Of course my mother Takako also enjoyed a lot!

Osaka VT Meeting

43) Osaka(Japan) VT Meeting : August 20 2006

Paul visited our home :-)

This is our second meeting with Paul.
He has been learning Japanese for about 3 years and his Japanese is so fluent! Great Paul!
He's staying in Kyoto now and today he came all the way from Kyoto to Osaka to visit our home.
We talked a lot (of course, in Japanese) and ate Japanese typical summer food "Hiyamugi (noodle)" and "Reishabu (boiled meat and vegitable salad".
And thank you very much for the delicious sweet cakes.
It was really a great meeting!
It was so nice seeing you, Paul :-)

Kyoto VT Meeting

This Kyoto VT Meeting was held to welcome Patrick and his parents :-)
And to our happiness, Jun, who is currently living in Osaka, also joined us!
We ate dinner at a Japanese casual restaurant (so-called Izakaya restaurant) "Ichiba-koji". We ate typical Japanese foods such as Sashimi(raw fish), Sushi, Tofu, Fried chicken with salad etc... Patrick brought VT gears for us, such as VT notebook, VT pin badge! Thank you so much... I will stick it to our travel bag and I hope some VTers will notice us :-)
Jun was carrying a professional camera and he took a photo of Patrick's parents... it's really a nice photo! I love their smiling faces :-)

It was a great fun to talk and eat together with you :-)

Delicious dinner at Shimaguni restaurant, and drunk people at The Temple Bar

We had this Osaka VT Meeting to welcome Sandra and Manfred from Germany.
(Manfred is currently living in Korea).
It was really nice meeting them again... this is our 2nd meeting!
Wow, I can't believe it has been almost 3 years since we met last time!

Eiji and Michiko were great organizers...the restaurant offerd tasty local food from southern part of Japan.
And they also had Shochu (Japanese distilled spirits) from that part of Japan.
We drank a lot and got drunk! Hahaha!
After dinner, we visited an Irish pub "The Temple Bar".
And we got more and more drunk!
It was also very nice meeting Yoko and Akiko :-)
We enjoyed eating, drinking and of course chatting together.
Really nice meeting.
Thank you very much, Sandra and Manfred, for coming to Japan again!

We visited Kuala Lumpur on our way to Pangkor Laut Resort. Our arrival time was late... so our VT meet started at 23:30!!
We really would like to thank all the participants for coming to meet us at such late time.
We enjoyed chatting at a cafeteria in Westin Kuala Lumpur and it was 2 o'clock AM when we said good-bye.
It was really nice to meet Jennie for the second time.(1st was in Kyoto, Japan)
And I was very happy to meet Terence face to face at last.
And we were also happy to meet Audrey and Patricia, who are most active VTers in KL, and Josie and Andy :-)
