San Felipe Summer 2006

Road trip to San Felipe

We stayed at Hotel El Cortez on this visit and we had alot of fun. Since we came with the kids I wanted to stay somewhere on the beach and with a pool. The Hotel Cortez is a wonderful place to stay at because its right on the beach with its own Boat launch and its own bar and restaurant. The hotel also has its own pool.
This picture is of the palapas right out side our hotel room. Its was a wonderful place to relax at with some pina coladas.

The International Border

We crossed the border in Calexico and went thru the city of Mexicali and on to San Felipe.

Entering San Felipe

The Pina Colada Trucks

These trucks would roll up and down the beach selling fruit and pina coladas and they use the pineapples to hold the coladas. These were really good and ice cold. It was so hot that I drank these like water.
In this picture Rob is buying yet another pina colada for me.

The beach right out side our hotel.

The kids in the water right outside our hotel. The water was about 80 degrees. The pool water was probably alot warmer. To stay cool we stayed at the beach all day long.

Vendors on the beach

Vendors were everywhere. They would pass by, ask us if we wanted to buy something, I would say No thank you, and they would leave. They were selling sarongs, t shirts, necklaces, silver jewlery, fruit, wnted to braid your hair....
