This is the White Rim road. It is mountain biking or four wheel drive vehicle only.
Eva and I met while working at Zion National Park as volunteers in 1999. We were dropped off on top of a mountain and spent a week removing non-indigenous plants. We have a good time together even if it is digging up dumb old plants the rangers don't want in their park. :)

I didn't say it was easy to get to Fort Bottom Ruin. But is was very cool once I got there. This is a hiking trail off of the White Rim Road near "hardscrabble".

I said I was clutzy. Like the duck tape bandaging? I like to call this look "How to scare the pretty people in Moab." It was Jeep Safari Week. I think I looked pretty bad by the end of the four day trip.

If your gear is packed and ready I found the quickest way to speed up others is to play your bagpipe practice chanter. My Pipe Major would have been proud.

After biking all day what a joy to set up camp in scenery like this!

Living in the State of Illinois it is hard to prepare yourself for a trail like this. We specialize in flat here in the good old Great Plains. This was tough but it was cool!
