My Bangkok Trip May 1-3, 2006

by roel121479 - last update: Aug 17, 2006

Day 1

Siam Paragon
Arrived from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok onboard Thai Air Asia. We disembarked on a remote bay and bussed to the terminal building. Immigration was a husstle. I cant imagine how many visitors a day in Bangkok. I arranged someone to pick me up at the airport and drove me to the city. I check in at Baiyoke Sky HOtel. This hotel is one of the tallest building in Thailand. I stayed at the 42nd Floor. After an hour, I went down to start my shopping at Pratunam.

At night, I just walk around and went to Siam Paragon, MBK and World Trade Center (Under construction that time).

I had a great thai dinner at the hotel.
Jim Thompson's House

Day 2

A tuktuk driver is waiting for me downstairs. We went first to Jim Thompson's house then go to Grand Palace. After Grand Palace, he drove me to the pier where I can go to Wat Arun. I passed through the Chao Phraya River for only Baht 5. I do the shopping at the pier. I bought some Thai stuff like chopsticks, candles, key chains and a lot more. I spend almost Baht 1000 and I must say, I did a lot of shopping that;s why we head back to the hotel.
Damn, I thought this Tuktuk driver is nice, he drove me to the Gem Factory. I know the deal, well, I already said no but the driver insist me to go there and just to take a look. I have no choice but to buy. I dont like my stay in bangkok after that incident. After that, I paid the driver and just do the travel on my own. You may find them friendly but not really because they have intentions of getting money from you. Anyway, at night, I just stayed in the hotel and watch some thai tv shows.
Wat Arun

Day 3

More shopping at pratunam. I went for a walk to World Trade Center and had a grocery at Isetan. Why isetan? The last time i went here at isetan, I bought this thai tea drink and this place also sells or showcase different thai products. For lunch, I buy some food like Stir Fry Thai NOodles and beef satay for only 50baht. In the afternoon, my driver pick up at Baiyoke Sky for my evening flight to Singapore via Jetstar ASia.

Thai Food

I love Thai Food!!!
