Wedding Bells for VTer Friends

The Weddings That I Attended

marriage of zue and jimmy...
Even to this day, there is a certain feeling within me when I attended a wedding ceremony or a wedding dinner... It has a nostalgia about it... It is a great way to meet and catch up with friends and acquaintances... and make new friends... There may be surprises along the way... You may meet lost friends who are invited for the same wedding party!!!

It is always great to be invited to a VTer's wedding... It shows that you have been accepted into his/her circle of friends although you have only known him/her thru VT and on the internet... There are VTers that we have meet on VT meetings and become firm friends, friends who we travel together and share some moments together... And I am honoured when invited if he/she decided to tie the knot... And I will certainly give him/her the honour by attending the happiest day of his/her life...

23.12.2006 - VTer Zue (id Lukluk_wal_marjan)

It was indeed gratious for Zue to invite me and Diana for her wedding in Baling (in the northern Malaysian state of Kedah)... The auspicious day was December 23... Of course, we were most happy to accept the invitation as we also know her prospective husband, Jimmy...

We started early from KLumpur for the 5-hours drive to Baling... We were certain that it would be a nice trip as we haven't been to Baling before, having heard of this "rather" historical town in Malaysian history... We stopped in Kuala Kangsar's Yut Loy Coffeeshop for the famous "pau" but was told that it was sold out for the day even before they have bake them!!! (see write-up in my restuarant section)... Passing thru Gerik and Pengkalan Hulu, we finally arrive in Baling, just in time to join in the wedding lunch...

We were again honoured to be seated on the bridal rostum, beside the elegent newly married... Zue and Jimmy certainly looks great on their important day... After lunch, we mingled amongst the guest crowd before wishing them well and goodbye for the drive to Ipoh ~ where we stop for a round of golf and overnight stay...

We wish to congratulate Zue and Jimmy on their tying the knot and wishing them all the best in their married life... with many children to come to call me "uncle"... hehe... All the best, Zue and Jimmy...

03.06.2006 - VTer Fizah (id Traps)

I was a bit surprised when I receive an SMS from Fizah inviting me to her wedding dinner on June 3... Surprised as I did not expect her to tie the knot so soon... And of course, I was most happy to accept the invitation... you see, Fizah is the very first VTer that I came to know and met when I joined VT in 2003...

We arrive in Singapore in the afternoon and proceed to the Bukit Batok Community Centre for the dinner after some window shopping at Orchard Road... We can only window shop as we poor Malaysians are handicapped by the very unfavourable MYR exchange rate... It was easy enough to locate the dinner hall and was ushered in to join Wendy and Juraidah (and her spouse, Dave) by fellow VTer Tina... Mohn Hamim and Juliana joined us after that... Soon the dinner started with the arrival of newly-weds... The bride looks radiant in yellow and the groom in white... Dinner was buffet style with lost of food and drinks for the evening... There was even a belly dance as entertainment... As for the VTers table, there are a lot of catching up to do, as the last VT meeting I attended in Singapore was in March 2005... only this time, without Fizah, who was up on the stage... hehe...

Teresa - (Farheen's guest)

After the dinner, we have to go our way... and we departed for Johor Baru, where we stayed the night... (again) too expensive for us to stay in Singapore!!! ... We wish Abu Hasan and Fizah all the best in the future and a blissful marriage life together...

10.12.2005 - VTer Alexander (id Zender)

December 10 was a special day for VTer Alexander (id Zender) as it was his wedding to his love, Suet Poh, and his birthday as well... The wedding ceremony was held at the Grand Plaza Parkroyal Hotel in Kuala Lumpur... Relatives, friends and well-wishers started to arrive at about 11.30am for the wedding ceremony...

From the VT community, are the following:

Attendees
Chia - Chiabh
Peh-san - pehsan
Shannon - cheekychic

Diana - Chia's guest

It was a simple Christian ceremony amongst those dear and close to Alexander and Suet Poh... The ceremony ended with a sumptious Chinese lunch at the hotel... We wish Alexander and Suet Poh all the best in their married life...

Hi Chia, nice you built a Kopi page, I haven't tried the one in Kajang yet, sure I want to go next time. Btw I noticed the Hainanese are especially good at Kopi.
