15 June 2008, Great World City, Singapore

On 15 June 2008, I attended a VT meet at the Great World City shopping mall food court, Singapore to welcome Aamer (VT member NukeDoc) to Singapore for his business trip. Other people who attended were Alexander (VT member Zender), Bo Nobo (VT member Bonobo2005) and his wife Laura, Wendy (VT member cheapskate) as well as Moey (VT member TheNanyangChinaman) and his two friends. The group had a good lunch as well as chit-chating about travels and other stuff. I wish Aamer will have a wonderful stay in Singapore and all the best in his future endeavors!

20 Oct 2007, near Aljunied MRT station, Singapore

On the morning of 20 Oct 2007, I was very happy to meet up with my friend Antonio (VT member Avieira67) who came from the far away Azores islands in Portugal to Singapore and other countries of South East Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Laos etc) for a tour. We had a Chinese dim sum breakfast at a coffee shop near to the Aljunied MRT (subway) station, which was near to Antonio's accomodation in Singapore. The occasion was great and we had a good time chit chating and eating :) Hope Antonio will have a safe journey and great experiences in Singapore as well as other countries in this region :)

2 June 2007, Palatschinkenpfandl, Vienna

On 2 June 2007, my wife and I attended a very enjoyable VT meet at Palatschinkenpfandl Restaurant, Vienna organised by Michael (VT member Globetrott) to welcome George (VT member tiabunna) and his wife Pauline from Australia to Austria. This restaurant is located within the famous Inner Stadt area of the city and serves delicious pancake dishes. Other VT members who attended this VT meet were Helena (VT member Longsanborn), Mike (VT member Morgenhund), Darja (VT member Daja123), Meta (VT member Slometa), Katherine (VT member Ekaterinburg), Ingrid (VT member Trekki), Kristina (VT member KristaB), Brigit (VT member Coccinella169).

Later on during July 2007, I met up with George and Pauline again. This time it was in Singapore when George and Pauline had a stopover on their way back to Australia. We had a great time chit-chating and having dinner at a food court at Bencoolen Street, near to the accomodation of George and Pauline :)

10 May 2007, Glutton Bay, Singapore

On 10 May 2007, some VT members in Singapore gathered at Glutton Bay to welcome Peter (VT member Loisl) to Singapore once again. Besides Peter and myself, the attendees included VT members imstress (and her husband Basil and friend Wilson), bpacker, sailor_p, jenaikes, bkoon, icyjo24, ZENDER, happyhormones and cheapskate. During the meal, VT member doreeny dropped by to meet us while jogging around the area. After the delicious meal and some happy chit-chatting at Glutton Bay, Peter and some of the people proceeded to Max Brenners' for a second round of enjoyment :)

3 Feb 2007, Glutton Bay, Singapore

On 3 Feb 2007, I went for a VT meeting at Glutton Bay, Singapore to welcome Jim (VT member Jim_Eliason) to Singapore once again. Jim is in Singapore for his Asian trip to Cambodia, Sarawak and Singapore, and I really hope he will have a great trip! Besides Jim and myself, the other people who turned up are Theresa (VT member sailor_p) and Martin, as well as Jen (VT member imstress), Basil and Wilson. The group have a nice dinner and chit-chat session at Glutton Bay, and the weather is very nice and breezy :)

I attended a VT meet to welcome Dave (VT member britbrat_56) and his wife Susan to Singapore. Those who attended were Dave, Susan, imstress (Jen). Jen's husband (Basil) and me. We had delicious Malay food dinner at the famous Nasi Padang River Valley (just across the road of the Great World City Shopping Centre) followed by coffee and oreo cheesecakes at McCafe, Great World City. It was an enjoyable night, and Dave shared his memories of his stay in Singapore more than 30 years ago. Earlier, Dave managed to visit the flat which he used stayed in Singapore as well as the school which he attended here :)

Two VT Meetings at Singapore in June 2006

I attended two VT meetings at Singapore in June 2006. The first one was on 9th June at Food Republic (Wisma Atria Shopping Centre) where VT members in Singapore welcome Andy (VT member leonik) back to Singapore for a short break before he heads for a trip to Iran, Georgia, Armenia and Azebaijan followed by Hawaii to continue his studies. Wish him all the best and happy travels. The second VT meeting was on 22 June at the Marina Food Loft at Marina Shopping Centre. VT members from Singapore met up with 3 VT guests, Peter (VT member loisl), Armand (VT member Armand62) and Jackie (VT member ahorny). We had a great time during dinner with lots of chit-chatting. Also many thanks to Peter for his gift and sharing with us a packet of "Basler Lackerli".

I would like to thank Cielo (VT member Cielo_Algaeed) for her big help in organising my Philippines trip. I met up with Cielo and her colleagues at her office in Manila on 29 May 2006 followed by a delicious lunch with Cielo at the nearby Zamboanga Restaurant. It was really an enjoyable trip to the Philippines :)
