Minnewaska State Park is beautiful to visit any time of the year, but so far my favorite season to visit is the winter. There is something about the way everything looks covered in the fresh, white snow that reminds me of the true goodness of nature.

I come to Lake Minnewaska often to hike and bike. Patrick has also become a big fan of the area. We went up in January a few days after a big snow storm and we were surprised to see that the trails had already been groomed. There were a few people there with their cross country skiis and a few couples, but no children. We came across a couple walking a beautiful dog, I knew at once it was my favorite breed, a Rodesian Ridgeback.

This picture looks sideways, but its not. I managed to get this branch at such an angle that it looks like a sideways tree. I had to look at it a couple of times before I figured that one out.

If you look closely you will see Patrick scaling some rocks in the back round. He definately takes after me. That is one of my favorite past times.
