Cleaner shrimps

Cleaner shrimps
My little camera, initially caused a lot of amusement from my fellow travelers on MV Manthiri who consists of professional photographers and videographers. So you can imagine how seriously huge and impressive (as well as a little intimidating to me) their equipments are.

Obviously, my baby point and shoot was no match for them. However, when it came to shooting tiny cleaner shrimps located in small holes, that's when my little Nikon came through. Mine was the only camera who could go into the hole and take this shot :-)

Size does not matter haha!
Nudibranch
Have you seen such a beautiful nudibranch before? When we shot this, it was well and alive. Of course, during our next dive, we wanted to go down and say hi again.

Imagine our shock when one of our videographer who was shooting it initially, discovered that it had died from a completely severed head! It was attacked by some predator.

It was a sad day and created quite a stir on our boat as some of us did not manage to capture it when it was alive.

Napoleon wrasse

Meet Mr B

This is Mr. Bonaparte, the friendliest Napoleon Wrasse I've ever seen. He came right up to me and we did a little waltz together in the water (caught it all on video!)

If anyone has any way of sharing videos through the net or email, please let me know.

Garden eels

Garden eels

These shy creatures are so difficult to capture as they disappear into their holes as soon as you approach them. Took a lot of patience and time lying on the sand waiting for them to come out to take this.
Batfish

They are huge around here in Maldives!
Snappers

Yellow fin snapper fish

I've never seen such huge schools of snappers before and they are everywhere!
