The Life in Sudan

camels at Jebel Al Aolia
Living in Sudan as an expat is really tough! The life is so expensive! From the vegetables to the meat, from your detergent soap to your shampoo and conditioner, as in everything!... and you dont have any other choice than to buy em! Sometimes its amazing to see how the local people are surviving..
But for those expats who goes out and work abroad to save..this is the right place...coz you will not spend any single cent for stupidities..you will really know how to spend your money wisely which in the end, don't spend at all! specially if the company provides you everything.

Gimmicks!!!

Since alcohol is not allowed here, no disco houses, bars etc.. you need to be connected to the International Community (as how they called it) and since the IC is not so big, the expats people used to gather and make their own private parties, which ofcourse needs a permit from the local authorities.

Gatherings!

Private parties are on and off...and if you are not so lucky to be in the list then you'll never have any party for the whole month...
Small gatherings are very common...you can gather 10-15 persons in one place..have some foods and aome booze to drink with nice music along..

Jebel Al aolia

An hour drive from Khartoum and you will have a nice place to have picnics or just to have something for a change!

Eating Out!

In khartoum (capital), there are some turkish resto, well among them I love KONEVI most, sudanese resto ofcourse, one italian restaurant and my favorite Indian restaurant ( not bcoz the owner is my friend)...
The Little India/Little Asia Resaurants offers a variety of asian cuisine...
