| Yonge Street, just south of Bloor |
Yonge Street is the longest street in the world. It is pronounced like the word young. This street is the main artery of Toronto. It commences at lake Ontario. It then goes north through the middle of the city. It then stretches out. It is considered to be about 1900 Km long.
This area of Yonge Street is downtown, just south of Bloor street. Though Toronto has many skyscrapers, this particular area is a concentration of one pretty shop after another. |

| | Yonge Street divides the city of Toronto into an east and west side. The main roads are numbered east or west from Yonge. For example, one of the main roads is called Finch. One can be at 100 Finch East or 100 Finch West. That would be to different areas. One is east of Yonge and the other west of Yonge. |
| Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, north of Toronto |
| | The street is so long that ironically I cannot describe what the street is like. Some areas are rural, some are suburban and others are industrial etc. The street starts at Lake Ontario by the Toronto Star building which is 1 Yonge Street. The street then goes directly north through the centre of the city. |

| | We are facing north on Yonge, about 4 kilometers outside downtown and approaching Eglinton Avenue. |
| | If I see some one unusual, why not insert it into my VT pages? I saw this man in the heart of Toronto in Yonge Street. He is walking without a shirt and wearing a Santa Hat. I am not sure, but suspect he is homeless. I was glad I had my camera with me. A pity I was not closer though! Longest Street in the World page 2 Back to my Toronto Page |
| | These buildings are not downtown Toronto. They are downtown North York. North York used to be a separate town bordering Toronto. North York has been incorporated into the new larger Toronto. That means North York used to have its own mayor. It now shares the Toronto mayor. |
