Ah. Italy. Easily one of the most mishap-ridden trips I've taken in recent memory.

When you hear "um that coach just drove off with all our luggage" even before you get to the airport for takeoff, a smart person would take it as a sign, a bad bad sign. But did we stop there? No we carried on our merry way to Florence. Though "carried on to Florence" is a strong choice of words. Landed in Pisa and took the train. My dear friends, for future reference, here's not what to say when you're at the wrong station, "We're in Florence! Get off! Get off!" which was, of course, exactly what my friend did, jumping onto the platform with luggage et al while the rest of us were still on the train. She turns around and the doors close on her. Mad sprinting ensue. Bodies arrive in Florence in one piece. Just nice for more mishaps in line.

To cut the story short, we managed to get ourselves to the wrong train station again from Florence to Venice. Only made it in time by hailing a cab.

Bus that promised to terminate at Venice airport never quite pulled it off. More headless-chicken dancing in the dark with luggage until another taxi pulled up. Taxi drivers of Italy rejoice.

Arrive at airport in snow and discover that flight has been delayed 4 hours.

Travel. You've got to love it.
