The best time to visit NZ depends on whether you want the snow or the sun. The hottest months are December, to March. We are located in the Southern Hemisphere so it is completely opposite to the Northern Hemisphere.
If you want the snow then June until September is best.
NZ is the first country to see the new day. Therefore, if it's 8am Wednesday, it will be 4am in Singapore, 7pm Tuesday in London, 3pm Tuesday in New York and 12pm Tuesday in Los Angeles. You will cross the international date line so will lose a day in your travels (make it up on the way home).
Los Angeles to Auckland takes around 14 hours, Singapore to Auckland about 9 hours and London to Auckland about 24 hours.
We drive on the left hand side of the road and the speed limit is 100 km on the highways and 50 in the urban areas.

Most overseas flights fly into Auckland but if you are coming from the West (Australia, Kuala Lumpar or Japan) you can fly direct to Christchurch.
The sun is the most intense and dangerous in the world. On a clear summers day, you can expect to get burnt in just 12 minutes without protective sunscreen.
New Zealand currency has 100 cents to the dollar. Coins come in 5,10,20 amd 50 cents, $1 and $2 denominations. Notes come in 5, 10, 50 and 100 dollars.
Credit cards are widely accepted throughout New Zealand and Automatic Teller Machines are widespread, so you don't need to carry lots of cash.
Tips are accepted for good service, particularly in the hospitality industry, but some workers feel good service is part of their job and may decline tips if offered so don't be offended.
