"U2 VERTIGO TOUR IN ST LOUIS (14 Dec 05)" Personal Page by terps94

The day before the concert my friend and I have nothing better to do so we decided to drive around downtown St Louis when we notice a commotion just outside Savvis Ctr. Lo and behold Bono was out walking around signing autographs so my friends and I decided to check it out and see if we can get a close up look. So here it is.

PRIDE ( In the Name of Love)

One man come in the name of love
One man come and go
One man come, he to justify
One man to overthrow

Chorus:
In the name of love
One more in the name of love
In the name of love
One more in the name of love

One man come on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed on an empty beach
One man betrayed with a kiss

Chorus

Early morning, april four
Shot rings out in the memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride

This song is a tribute to civil rights leader Dr Martin Luther KIng

I STILL HAVEN'T FOUND WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

I have climbed highest mountain
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run
I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you

But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for
But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire

I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone

But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for
But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for

I believe in the kingdom come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
Well yes I’m still running

You broke the bonds and you
Loosed the chains
Carried the cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I believed it

But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for
But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for
But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for
But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for...

SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY

I can't believe the news today
I can't close my eyes and make it go away

How long, how long must we sing this song
How long, how long

Tonight we can be as one, tonight
Broken bottles under children's feet
Bodies strewn across a dead end street
But I won't heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall

Sunday bloody Sunday
Sunday bloody Sunday
And the battle's just begun
There's many lost, but tell me who has won
Trenches dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart

This song was written after an incident that happen in the early 70's and somehow incidents like this still occurs.

SOMETIMES YOU CAN"T MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN

"Listen to me now
I need to let you know
You don't have to go it alone

And it's you when I look in the mirror
And it's you when I don't pick up the phone
Sometimes you can't make it on your own

I know that we don't talk
In sick of it all
Can you hear me when I sing
You're the reason I sing
You're the reason why the opera is in me
Well, hey now
Still got to let you know
A house doesn't make a home
Don't leave me here alone"

Bono wrote this song as a tribute to his late father and I'm sure a lot of people can relate to what he's saying in this song>

RUNNING TO A STANDSTILL

And so she woke up, woke up from where she was lying still
Said I got to do something about where we're going
Step on a steam train, step out of the driving rain
Maybe run from the darkness in the night

Singing ha la la la de day
Ha la la la de day ha la la de day

Sweet the sin, bitter the taste in my mouth
I see seven towers but I only see one way out
You got to cry with out weeping, talk without speaking
Scream without raising your voice
You know I took the poison from the poison stream
Then I floated out of here

Singing ha la la la de day
Ha la la la de day ha la la de day

She runs through the streets with her eyes painted red
Under a black belly of cloud in the rain
In through a doorway she brings me
White gold and pearls stolen from the sea
She is raging, she is raging
And the storm blows up in her eyes
She will suffer the needle chill
She is running to stand still
