Being in the Netherlands and especial the Twente area for the first time I had suggested to atlor a small exploration tour.
First we took off to the center of the village of Haaksbergen and we noticed each restaurant and snackbar.
Furthermore we admired the churches and the former train station, now part of the local tourist steam train attraction.
On the way back we walked via the local busstation.
Next thing on the list was the old Oosterdorper watermill.
In fact these are 2 mills of over 500 years old.
We continued our trip and drove to the village of Boekelo to see the new Grolsch beer brewery and in the wood we explored the Boekelo salt drilling installations, hidden in traditional wooden buildings.
After a quick drive along the AKZO salt factory and some other Hengelo industries we headed for the city of Enschede.
We walked through the center of town, looked for the train- & bus station and ended up at De Kater, a bar at the old market square.
It was about time, because altor had not taken any lunch yet and after travelling from Poland via Frankfurt he was really hungry.
I dropped atlor off at his Haaksbergen hotel and AC_spotter and me rushed to home for dinner.
