The four different seasons i Stockholm, winter, spring, summer, and fall, are all very distinct and all have their certain characterisics. Each season transform our capital into something new. Many people visiting Stockholm in the winter time, will have a hard time recognizing it in the summer time, and vice versa. The people living in the city also transform depending on the season. The cold not so friendly Swedes, which is a bad reputation about our people, might be there in the winter time, but in the summer with the long nights, the Swedes truly open up their hearts. During the spring and fall, the Swedes show their appreciation for the varied climate in which they live, and the changes of the season are celebrated. One attribute that follows the citizens through all of the seasons though, is the love for the nature. On a sunny winter day, the parks of Stockholm are filled with people going for walks, sledding, or cross country skiing. In the spring, summer, and fall, these same people can be found fishing, playing soccer/freesbee, and just laying in the grass. One of the beauties of the Capital of Scandinavia is certainly to see how it changes year around. |
Winter Winter in Stockholm usually means short, dark, and mostly cold days. However, every now and then the sun breaks through and light up the day, or the street lights light up the snow in beautiful ways. |

Spring By March, the people in Stockholm are usually complaining about the never ending winter, asking themselves in different surveys: will it ever end? So then, by the end of the month and the begining of the next one, the change suddenly occure, and spring is here! Restaurants dust of their outdoor furniture and people take to the streets to once again feel the sun upon their face. The first flowers break through the before so cold ground in the parks, and people once again ask themselves; is there posibly any better place in the world than this one? |
