Church of San Pietro in Vincoli - PAGE IN PROGRESS The Church of St Peter in Chains - Legend has it that Constantine's mother brought part of the chains to Rome from Palestine. The other half were here and that when the were placed together, they miraculously fused. The chains are encased in glass in the center of the church below the alter.
(This page is a work in progress - more info - addition photos coming) |
| | MOSES by Michaelangelo In the right nave as you approach the alter, you will see the huge marble MOSES - sculpted by Michaelangelo. A powerful figure that exudes strength and command. The lighting changes and you have differing views of this monument. Stay awhile and Moses will mesmerize you. |
| | Moses A view of him from the far right in subtle light - polish of the marble, color and tone clearly visible in this light. |
| | Moses - close-up Hope you can see his face better in this photo take from the far left side. |
