Books we have read...

by Escadora7 - last update: Jan 3, 2006

pic lifted off the web
We looove to read. There is nothing better than to curl up with a good book in front of the fireplace on a cold and stormy winternight. OK - since we live in Dubai, Saudi, and Los Angeles, we really aren't experiencing too many cold and stormy winternights... But we do enjoy books nevertheless.

Following is a list of books we have read, or want to read. Please drop us a line if you have read any of the books, whether you liked them, hated them, just want to comment on them, or if you have any suggestions for a good book - we'd love to hear it.

:-D

Self-improvement:

1) The Monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin Sharma (A fable about fulfilling your dreams and reaching your destiny.) We both enjoyed this one very much - life wisdom. I think it's time to go back and re-read.

2) The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream by Paulo Coelho
Similar wisdom as the Monk-book; maybe written a little better.

3) The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey

LIST NOT FINISHED - BY FAR!!! BUT WE'LL KEEP UPDATING.

Fiction

1) Angels & Demons (Dan Brown): this is the one he wrote before the Da Vinci Code. In my opinion a much better book. I really enjoyed this book since I read it just after we had returned from our Rome trip and knew all the places he talks about. The story was gripping. Really good book. Would recommend it.

2) Da Vinci Code (Dan Brown): yeah, yeah - it's the best-seller and everybody has read it. I admit, it took me about 4 days to read it - yes I was drawn into it. But overall, I don't think it's written that well, it is somewhat offensive to Catholics, and it's not as good as Angels & Demons.
