It was rainy night when we (me and my friend Nika) desided to cross the Georian-Turkish border. Nika's ount was crazy about this idea. She said: where are you going people?! there is night outside, and rain and no transport will be on the other side of border... because of night!
But political situation in our country was already bad.. and we did not know what would happen the next morning.. maybe we would be unable to cross the border next day... so we desided to do it that night or never...
the way to Istanbul was really long - one night and one day...only after 24 ours we were there! ( we were traveling by bus)

The problem which occured on the road was how to comunicate with people. Very few of turkish knew inglish or german. So we desided to study some "survival turkish".
Here on the picture my friend is wrighting some turkish words on his hend in purpose not to forget them....

Our bus brought us to the area in Istanbul which is called Harem. then we crossed Bosphorus by ship and arived in Karakoy. This is one of the oldest areas in Istanbul. we had the adress of the house we were going to live in but we had to find it first. And suddenly while we were walking in the streets this beautiful tower appiared! and I fell in love with this tower at first glance! I forgot everything: that I was tired, and sturving and that it was so cold....
And that was only begining of my visit in Istanbul... I have just realized that I have only 3 chapters for my Istanbul travel story... so sad... so many pics to show and no opportunity :) so many things to say... and no space! :):)
o.k. maybe I will think of how to press all this in 3 chapters.. maybe later...
