"How to Carve a Pumpkin..." Personal Page by Marisola

Find a Pumpkin Place...

They sell pumpkins everywhere in the states,
but this is the best deal I've seen!

Choose a Pumpkin...

My son jumped in with the pumpkins to choose one!

Set the Table...

Lie some newspaper on the table. Get materials needed: knife, spoon, black marker, pot for guts and baking pan for seeds.

Draw Your Face...

With the black marker, draw the face on your pumpkin.

Most of the time, people carve scary faces on pumpkins, but my son and I like to draw something more artistic than faces. We always try to think of something creative every year. This year, I drew a Fleur-De-Lys to carve out.

My son Andrew drew an Escape jail...

Cutting the Lid...

You should first draw the lid on your pumpkin with your marker. I drew a star for my lid. Next, begin cutting the lid. When you cut, make sure you cut on a diagonal inward so that the lid doesn't fall inside. Remove lid.

Getting the Guts...

Time to get the guts... Ewww... Yes, using your hand, grab out all the guts out of the pumpkin. Use the spoon to scrape the sides. Place all of the guts in your pot, and the seeds in the baking pan. Next, carve out your face...

Cook up the Seeds!

Pumpkin seeds taste great after you cook them! I put some chili powder on them before I cook them, then I throw them in the oven for about a half an hour. Try it!
