The present user of Poznanski's Palace - Muzeum Historii Miasta Lodzi (the City History Museum) founded in 1975 - has made attempts to restore the building to its former splendour.
The interiors were differentiated in style, and the decoration is usually linked with the function of each room. The most grandiose interior is a huge representative DINING-ROOM where guests were surrounded by the exuberant, very interesting decoration.
The interior designing was enriched by stucco and sculpture works. The motives and symbols of the ancient art and tradition of Jewish culture were used in this decoration. The elements of secession (Art Nouveau) and eclectic style are characteristic for its interior designing.
Among numerous thematic exhibitions made by the museum the most interesting is the one dedicated to Arthur Rubinstein, a great pianist who was born in Lodz.
