The Central Museum of Textile Industry at 282 Piotrkowska Street exhibits old tools and textile machines, collections of industrial fabrics, products of weavers from Europe and Asia (a huge collection of Eastern carpets), old and contemporary clothes. The greatest collection of contemporary tapestries is a true attraction of the museum. Since 1972 the museum has been organizing the International Triennial Exhibition of Tapestries, the biggest and most prestigious in the world exhibition of contemporary tapestries.
