Onto the top of Austria...

The "Großglockner Hochalpenstraße" (road # 107) is a 40 km long panorama road between Fusch (Tirol; some 25 km south of Zell am See) and Heiligenblut (Carinthia) with a 10-km lay-by (the "Glacier Road") to the visitors' center and look-out point at the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe where you stand directly in front of Austria’s highest peak, the Grossglockner (3798 m) with a view of the longest glacier in the eastern Alps, the Pasterze.
It's a toll-road (26 euros per car), open from May 1 till November 1, between 7 am and 7 pm.

The highest point on the road (a 2-km lay-by) is the Edelweisspitze (2571 m) that provides majestic panoramic views all around.
