This is the earliest picture I have of my mom. I'm the baby in the carriage, so obviously I didn't shoot that one!

This was taken in Montréal, where I lived until I was 3. I don't really remember any of it unfortunately.

Cette photo a été prise à Montreal où j'ai vécu jusqu'à l'âge de 3 ans. Je ne me souviens de rien durant cette époque malheureusement.

My mother is on the right. Her sister, whom she picked to be my godmother, is on the left. My cousin sits in the middle.

This was taken with my first (and rather primitive) point-and-shoot camera.

Ma mère est à droite. Sa soeur, ma marraine, est à gauche. Ma cousine est au milieu.

We had a big family party at our house to celebrate my parent's 25th wedding anniversary. These cakes look yummy! The ugly yellow curtains are a leftover from the 70's :-)

On a eu une grosse fête à la maison pour célébrer le 25e anniversaire de marriage de mes parents. Les gâteaux ont l'air délicieux! Les affreux rideaux jaunes sont un restant des années 70! :-)

I normally visit my parents about twice a year. They live near Montreal, about 500 kms away from me. I was just fooling around here, taking pictures around their house and got this "almost" candid shot of my mom!

Normalement je visite mes parents deux fois par année. Ils vivent à proximité de Montréal, à environ 500 km de chez moi. Ici je m'amusais à prendre des photos autour de leur maison, et j'ai saisi cette image "presque" candide de ma mère!

I remember this Christmas well. It was just before taking off for my big round-the-world trip!

Je me souviens très bien de ce Noël. C'était juste avant mon départ pour mon grand voyage autour du monde!

The year after I bought my apartment in Toronto, my parents visited me. It was a cool windy week-end in early May.

L'année après que j'aie acheté mon appartement à Toronto, mes parents sont venus me visiter. C'était un week-end du début mai, frais et venteux.

My mother was a full time homemaker and queen of the kitchen. She could usually be found in there preparing something or other for us.

I think here she is making her traditional Quebec Christmas meal, which always included the meatball and pork leg stew in the big orange pot!

Ma mère était une femme au foyer à temps plein, et reine de la cuisine. On la trouvait normalement là, en train de nous concocter quelquechose de bon à manger.

Je pense qu'ici elle prépare un repas de Noël traditionel québécois, qui incluait toujours un ragoût de boulettes et pattes de cochon dans le gros chaudron orange!

I've had this picture on my fridge for about a year now. It was taken in the summer of last year, when my parents last visited me in Toronto. I think they both look very cute on this picture!

Ça fait environ un an que j'ai cette photo sur mon réfrigérateur. Elle a été prise durant l'été l'année passée, quand mes parents m'ont visitée à Toronto la dernière fois. Je trouve qu'ils ont tous les deux l'air très "cute" sur cette photo!
