Realisation of a dream
Its been a dream of mine to visit South America. I blame it on the Tintin comics I use to read when I was very young.
So what can I say ? I am going !
When ?
Thats a good question. Probably in a few years time. I need to get my life in order ~ learn the language, devour south american literature, dance the salsa .. are among the things in the pipeline for me.
Salsa
Threw myself into classes with Pat early this year .. and I LOVE it !! Been hardworking with trying to attend Salsa nights religiously on Thursday's (in Qba) and Saturdays (in Salsa Havana) so as to dance with as many people as possible :-)
Took the courage to go for salsa dancing when I was in Europe .. and I did !! In Barcelona :-)) Big hugs to Zoe_bcn for taking Chancay and myself there - we really had a great time !!
Signed up for the 2006 Salsa Festival in Cherating, Pahang this August, the first international event of this sort in Malaysia and enjoyed myself tremendously.
Now I want more :-p
Language
Ok, plans for language class is not going as well as I expected due to time contraint and availbility of classes ! pffff ... But I am still looking about :-)

To explore as many little islands in Thailand as possible
I am lucky to be living so close to Thailand. There is something about her (ie Thailand) that keeps me going back again and again. It must be the wonderful people (with their Mai pen rai attitude) or the yummy food or even the gorgeous beaches and islands around or the amazing AZUL there or the kaleidoscope of colours in the skies ....
Each island I have been, from sophisticated Phuket to the quiet Libong, I have always found something there that makes me smile and feel contented with life. I know its a form of escapism, but hey, ain't traveling that as well ? :-)

The Sands
Been reading Tony Bourdain's book again (& again & again ..) and enthralled by his description of his journey to the desert. Remembering what I saw in The English Patient and Lawrence of Arabia and Tintin's adventures.
I guess this is one place I want to go to at least once in my lifetime. Who doesn't ?
