Central Kentucky has a limestone base that is supposedly good for the bones of race horses. Near the Kentucky River, streams cutting through the limestone drop toward the high bluffs overlooking the Kentucky River. |
Wildflowers grow all over the park. The bluff overlooking the Kentucky River has columbine growing out of the rocks. |
The nature center at Raven Run has a few snakes, turtles, and other items. Call ahead and reserve a spot for one of the programs sponsored by Lexington's Park and Recreation Department for a special treat. |

I used to work with the racetrack and miss ny spring and fall trips to Lex. Haven't been since late 80s but swear that guy was painting pictures when I was there! Great photos |
