Best of France 1

Cathedral of Notre Dame

Cathedral at the Center of Ile-de-France

Notre Dame is a fantastic cathedral in the heart of Paris. Oddly enough, you'll wind up using it as a reference point whenever you start to wonder where you are in Paris.
Eiffel Tower

The monument that doesn't need a title

Nice during the day, but even more spectacular at night, the Eiffel Tower glimmers with blinking strobe lights around 22:00. Go to the top and touch the sky!
Paris from top of the Eiffel Tower

As previously mentioned, the Eiffel Tower at night

Although packed with fellow tourists, the top of the Eiffel Tower is worth the view... if you don't mind no elbow room and a long wait to go up and back down.
Cap Frehel, Bretagne (Brittany)

Spectacular Ocean Views at Cap Frehel

Although this is one of my favorite photos, the picture doesn't do justice to the spectacular panoramas from this point at Cap Frehel in Brittany. Absolutely breathtaking... and a nice break from the museums and busy city life of Paris.
View from Fort La Latte

The Rocky Coast of Brittany in all its Glory

At the top of Fort La Latte - an old castle in Brittany - there are spectacular views of the dramatic coastline. It helped that we had perfect weather, too.
Mt. St. Michel

Is it a castle or a fort or a cathedral?

I can't remember, but whatever Mt. San Michel is, it was absolutely magnificent! This was one of my favorite places to see. The views of the endless quicksand from the cathedral is unparalleled. It's like looking out at another planet from the mind of George Lucas.
Timber-fused houses in Vannes

Are they about to collapse?

Probably not, but these timber-fused houses in Vannes were a sight to see. Loved the colors of these four near the Cathedral.
Sacre Coeur, Paris

My Favorite Cathedral in Paris

Sure, Notre Dame gets all the glory and St. Chappelle has some great stained glass windows, but I like the Baroque Sacre Coeur in Montmartre the best.

Insane meaning it was something else (in a good way I mean) I hope! Paris? And Tokyo? You sure are having a great travel year! UK was great-too short, but unbelievably we went to visit the Fab Four's hometown-was really fun! Take care!
