Ode to the Rental Car..

by Shihar - last update: Mar 21, 2006

I'd like to pay proper respect to the fine pieces of machinery that enabled all our travels. For without these vehicles, I'd be wearing out all my favorite sneakers...
Rocky Mt. Ranger
This picture was taken at Rocky Mt. National Park. You will observe that those are smashed snowballs on the windshield thrown by my dearest husband. I didn't share his same enthusiam for the white cold stuff.

Mount Rainier NP, WA

The natives at Mt. Rainer were admiring out Subaru, Forester as much as we did.

Acadia NP- Cadillac Mountain, ME

Our poor car was exposed to the windy elements on the top of Cadilllac Mt.

My hair made me look like kin to Robert Smith from The Cure.
Yellowstone NP

Focus in Yellowstone NP

Although we were cursing this Ford Focus for most of the trip (not the best mountain car!), it served it's purpose and provided us with a wonderful trip through WY and ID.
Dusty Durango

Durango- Guadulupe Mt. National Park

We are very much the anti-SUV type of people but we sold our souls to the devil this trip. The rental place gave us a free upgrade to a Durango and we couldn't quite refuse the offer. Hypocracy at its finest! We couldn't verbally admit that we loved the Durango... but we both knew there would be slight separation anxiety when we left it behind.
