Rainforest and woodland Snapshots

by Wafro - last update: Mar 25, 2006

"Mount Cameroon"

On Mount Cameroon you’ll find both vegetation types.
In the valleys and almost half way the slopes, you can find rainforests, from there on you see woodland and the third belt is the grass belt with almost no vegetation.

Tai Forest - Ivory Coast

This is Tai Forest, one of the last remaining BIG rainforests of West Africa.

Ankasa Forest - Ghana

This is Ankasa Forest in the Western outskirt of Ghana, with a surface of more than 500 square kilometres.

Lobéké Forest - Cameroon

Lobeke Forest is situated in the Eastern tip of Cameroon, it's part of the Congo Basin and an ecological HOTSPOT!

Mundemba area(forest) - Cameroon

Mundemba is located in between two large forested areas, the Korup Forest and the Rumpi Hills Forest. They think this area is one of the oldest forests in the world.

Mount Assirik - Senegal

This is a typical Guinean woodland area.

Korup Forest - Cameroon

Korup is an unique rainforest near the Nigerian border, on the other side of the line you'll find the Cross River Forest with thes same qualities as Korup.

Mole Woodland - Ghana

This a dense woodland savannah in the Northern part of Ghana.
