Many of our favourite trips in Europe have been following Newcastle United in recent years. Here are some photos of our best trips! |

ATHENS
- the perfect place to combine football and culture. Toon fans know how to party but rarely cause trouble, and our crowd likes to explore the ancient monuments or cultural sights of the places we visit.
But there's always time for a drink too, especially if, as on this occasion, the result has gone our way!

HERENVEEN
- one of the friendliest places we've been for a match. This photo was taken in a bar where we met quite a few of the local fans before the match. Some Dutch fans have a bad reputation (like some English ones) but those in Herenveen were great!

SOCHAUX
- another really friendly town - we met some local fans in an Italian restaurant and they were very happy to chat despite having just lost 4-0!

LISBON
- great place, shame about the result [we lost in the semi-final of the UEFA Cup, when we really SHOULD have won]
But like Athens this was a lovely city to visit, and we managed to enjoy ourselves ;)

OSLO
- having been here a few years ago to see the lads play Vallerenga, our second visit to Oslo was in 2006 for an Intertoto match against Lillestrom.
The locals made us very welcome, especially Christian of the Newcastle United Scandinavian Supporters Club (thanks for all the help Christian!) and we all enjoyed a 3-0 victory in sweltering sunshine.

PALERMO
- in November 2006 we were in Palermo, which we combined with a brief bit of sightseeing here and in nearby Monreale.
The match was amazing - an unexpected victory - and the local fans were very friendly and welcoming, as you can see.

FRANKFURT
- and a few weeks later we were in Frankfurt to complete a great series of results that saw Newcastle through the group stages and into the next round of the UEFA Cup!

helloooo sarah! im hanging with wonky, and i just put up a few pictures on the western australia page. i saw deserts, gorges and reefs! i swam with turtles, colorful fishies and even little reef sharks! i want to come to england to see you one day! x |
