Travel Tips

Jeff and I attended the 1st Annual Texas Meet in Fort Worth in September 2008. We enjoyed a dinner with about a dozen VTers at the old fashion Western themed Cattlemans Steak House and the following night at Joe T Garcias which featured Tex Mex food in a lovely garden setting at dusk. It was great to see everyone but sadly we also missed meeting several Texas Vters who were unable to attend due to Hurricane Ike that devastated the Galvaston, Texas region.....Our thoughts and prayers were with them !

Jeff and Mike attended a small VT Meet with me in Anchorage Alaska in August of 2007. Thanks to Doug for inviting us and also a big thank you to Patty, a native Alaskan for choosing the wonderful location and changing the time so Jeff, Mike & I could attend.

Jeff and I attended the Euromeet 2007 on Sqantorini Island in Greece. The sucessful VT meet had 71 people attend as well as some Virtual Attendees. It was great to make new friends and to finally meet some people in person as well as see some old VT friends again.For a lot more information and pictures on Euromeet2007 see my Santorini page.

I attended the SoCal Meet in Torrance for Octoberfest. It was alot of fun and so nice spending time with "old" VT friends: girladventure & Yubert. It was also nice meeting girladventures mom,Escadora7, kzapanta,cachaseiro,VT Manager giampiero6 & Tilman VT Founder !!!

We had a VT Meet at the San Jaun Capistrano Mission on July 23,2005. We enjoyed good Mexican food, live music and dancing at a Concert Under the Stars. Since I work at the Mission as a Docent (teaching Mission History and giving tours) I gave a short tour to a few of the guests while others dined. Unfortunately it got to late and dark for a second tour. Fortunately I am sure this was just the first of many SJC Meets to come!
