SS Sicamous, sternwheeler
On the beach at Penticton lies the preserved steam paddlewheeler, SS Sicamous which plied the waters of Okanagan Lake for many years carrying freight and passengers. It's open daily to the public for tours.
Penticton beach, Okanagan Lake
Penticton Rose Garden
Trees loaded with apricots
This orchard just north of Osoyoos was so loaded with fruit that it was falling to the ground in the slightest breeze. I bought a couple of 10 pound cases for a mere $ 7.50 each. Peaches were just coming to market.
Lapin cherries...yummmmmmmmmm!!!
These Lapin cherries were on sale at the Cherry festival in the wine museum...they're huge!!!!
Inside the spiral tower
This is the tower that makes up the core of the Burrowing Owl Vineyards. The spiral stairway leads from the basement cave/ ageing cellars to the top, 7 stories above for an incredible panorama of the vineyards and valley below stretching to Osoyoos a few miles to the south.
Irrigating the vineyards
Vineyards on the Upper Bench are irrigated by water drawn from the Okanagan River. The area receives less than 15 inches of precipitation per year.
Syrah grapevines, Desert Hills Winery

Best Place to dine in Kelowna! The Italian Food is World Class! And the service is excellent. Loretta (Chef) and Franco (Maître) are the owners who their son Luigi make the best desert drinks.
