Butter yellow Beaver Tail cactus. sometimes called prickley pear cactus. After the flowers are gone, there comes a small pear shaped fruit. Granma used to make some killer jelly from prickley pears. |
Here today, gone tomorrow echos of my childhood. This little guy is direct decentant of some plants that we had in the yard of the house I grew up in 30 years ago. Thanks Uncle Mike, for taking care of them for so long. |
tiny, but powerful This small pincushion cactus at first clance appeared to little to bloom, but bloom it did. Note the multiple buds just waiting their turns. |

so, we do have more than cactus Bearded Iris. They stand so tall and proud every spring. And bring more and more of their friends each year. Good thing they are in a contained area. |
