If the planes of latitude and longtitude are extended infinitely into Space, they become the circles and paralells of declination.
The position of a heavenly body in relation to the celestial equator is called it's declination. and corresponds to latitude on the earth.
The declination of the sun changes by about one degree every three days and since the 15th. centuary navigators have been able to find the variation tabulated in a special almanac. |
