The Bad News
Thoough it was a trip filled with reunions, it also was a trip accompanied with a sad goodbye.
I purchased my Jeep Cherokee Lerado in Oct. of 1999 in Allentown Pennsylvania. She was my first car purchased with my own hard earned cash, and truely my first love.
With nearly 250,000 miles under the hood, she still purred like a kitten. She was loyal through 2 drives from coast to coast across the Untied states. She made the trip home across the sea to Hawaii in 2000, and then was shipped back to California in 2001 for the drive to Atanta.
She got me through and around nearly 2 dozen states. She survived the harse winters of Pennsylvania, the scorching heat of Las Vegas, and the salty air of Hawaii.
Upon my return to Atlanta, i learned that she had been impounded a few months earlier. My friend who had been watching over her, did not have the heart to tell me while i was over seas.
After spending nearly 3 months in the impound yard, she was found nearly defeated and heart broken. The amount to free her, and repair her borken heart was out of my reach, and it left me with a decision to make. I decided it was time to put her to sleep, and say good bye to my old loyal friend. I still struggle with the decison i made, but i had to except that her time had come.
The picture here is of our final goodbye.
RIP
Jeep 1999 - 2005. Survived by her best friend, Bryan Deutsch.
