Christmas 2004

Had 3 of the kids home for the Holidays and two of the grand kids.
From left to right, granddaughter Erin, son Nick, daughter Julie, me, grandson Eli, daughter Annie & better half Aimee.
Note the lack of snow that winter. Julie & Erin live in Juneau, Nick is up in Fairbanks & Annie is lives in New Jersey. Grandson Eli lives with us full time.

Daughter and The Son-in-Law

Tom & Julie up from Juneau - also during their Christmas visit. Photo taken in the airport parking lot. The sun sets early in the winter - about 5:30PM this day. Julie works for the state as a computer programmer / analyst and Tom works for the Juneau Library doing the same things. And yes, there is a computer in every room of their home.

School Board Cohorts

Taken at the National School Boards Association conference in San Diego, April 2005. Carl and Francis Rose, me, Sandy from Seward and Mary from Juneau.

Grandson's baptism

Had our grandson baptised this spring. 3 of his 4 godmothers are in this photo - Annameik, Annabelle and Jeanne. Want a job done right, ask the women to handle it - right? In the middle is Aimee, Eli and I.

Newest addition to the family

I know, I know - but Aimee has wanted an English Bull Dog for years and I finally gave up the fight for something a little more -? svelt?
Benelli arrived last Friday 8/5 and is adjusting to the Aleutians well!
She has a wonderful personality and is a solid and calm pal to our grandson.

Grandson Eli

Here Eli is learning how to play "nice" with dogs. Thank goodness Bull dogs are such patient animals!
Looks like we will be raising Eli - a long story. Let's just leave it at life is what happens while you're busy making plans :)
A neat kid - I think we'll do fine together. His dad was the first older child Mother Theresa allowed to be adopted from her orphanage in Howrah. She felt it was too many changes for an older child to go thru. As usual, she was right.

Youngest Son

This is Nick, the youngest of our 5 kids. He is 21 and a junior at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (or in his third year anyway). He was our first adoption, only 3 months old when we brought him home from Calcutta. We are very proud of him. Great personality, hard worker, honorable.
He usually comes home for the summer to work as a longshoreman on the ships. Good money but long hours and hard work.

Grandkids

Erin & Eli exploring the tide pools near our house with that intensity only 3 year olds possess.
