Our neighborhood street w/ restaurants, clubs, hofs, karaoke bars, and more! A fun little area near Dankook University called Hannam-dong. Come check it out sometime. |
| | View View from Itaewon overlooking Hannam-dong and beyond. |
| Police getting ready for protest |
| | Protests at U.S. Embassy Police everywhere to make sure there is no violence during the protest. There are protests weekly near the Embassy. Always very mellow. Sometimes hundreds of police are on-hand just in case. |
| | Streetside dining Tents are put up alongside the road. You can get all kinds of food inside as well as beer and soju for a cheap price. Good place to meet the locals. |
| | Varioius pickled items Koreans loved pickled things. Here is a wide range of pickled things they eat. They eat one of these with every meal, along with some type of Kimchi. |
| The crowd by the food booths |
| | Hi-Seoul Festival April Hi Seoul Festival. Lots of booths with food alongside the sidewalk and bands all around. Takes place in Gwanghawmun area by Seoul Cultural Center, Kyobo Bookstore, and City Hall. City Hall area had a big stage erected for the event. There was an international food section but the food got wiped out quickly. Good while it lasted! |
| | New Friend The older Korean men love to chat with us. I've had 3 different Korean men talk to me in recent months. Twice we were joined at an outside table for a beer and once on the bus. Very friendly and curious gentlemen. |
