Impressive and peaceful Acros Corinth This is a view of the main entrance of the fortress of Acros Corinth. Our leasecar in the front, the impressive walls at the back! |
| | High tops Even the highest tops of the mountains are covered with walls. And all these high tops, you can walk to by feet to have a stunning view of the wide surroundings. |
| Entrance of Acros Corinth |
| | Through the entrance With absolutely nobody there to sell or control ticket, or to stand in the way of the camera, I walked into Acros Corinth. A tough climb over big rocks and steep paths, but sooo worth it! |
| | The view... And from all the way up, this is the view you get. Kilometres of walls circling around the hill, beautiful nature and a good view of the Greek countryside. |
| | Viewpoint at the front At the left hill of Acros Corinth you can get all the way to this viewpoint. It's a long climb, but the way up is gorgeous and the result is even better. This gives you the what you call "I'm the King of the world!!!" feeling. |
| | Beautiful fauna Because hardly any people were at the hill of Acros Corinth when I was there (I counted 4 of them!) the chance is big that you get face to face with the most beautiful animals. First a falcon scared the hell out of me, when it flew away 5 metres in front of me, and after that I was surprised by this beautiful bird, that even posed for me. Isn't she lovely? |
| | Beautiful flora I visited Acros Corinth in april, of course a period in which flowers start to grow and nature wakes up after winter. So this period was great to visit the hill. Is was all covered by the most beautiful and colourful flowers you can think of. |
| | A final view... And this is a last view all over the hill. You can clearly see the different levels of the walls. Great expience!!! |

littlesam1 Sun Mar 4, 2007 18:11 UTC I am probably visiting Corinth when I travel to Athens in June this year. You have some good information for my planning. | roamer61 Mon Sep 25, 2006 20:18 UTC Great pics of Corinth. The pretty bird is a Chukar, a member of the Quail Family. | etfromnc Fri Nov 4, 2005 19:57 UTC Been there, done that, & enjoyed it immensely! Would add only that the pottery shop will ship your purchases very reasonably & the hike up Akros Corinthos can be a bit strenuous. I went with a small group last summer and some could not make it to the top. | MJB123 Fri Nov 4, 2005 19:27 UTC Excellent Corinth Pages. I passed over the canal on my way from Athens to Patras and I should of gotten of the train and explored the city. |
