The Hundred Islands of Alaminos, Pangasinan

by Pinoy - last update: May 16, 2004

one of the islands
The Hundred Islands is known for surfing, boating, snorkeling and diving not to mention islands hopping. It is however unsafe and inaccessible to cross the islands when seas are rough. And the water activities can be dangerous.

No weary for campers, because Children's Island has camp areas where you can sleep over. Its bathroom facilities are cleaned and well-maintained walks with guards.

By land is the best way to get to Alaminos, Pangasinan, where you can sightseeing the beautiful mountain scenery of Pangasinan province or Zambales province, depending the route you are driving through.

Alaminos Town

The town of Alaminos

For centuries, Aetas had inhabited the rain forest of Zambales Mountains and lost their refuge when Mt Pinatubo viciously erupted in 1992. They descended into the lowlands and they have been seen living in the provinces of Pangasinan and Zambales. Unfortunately, many Filipinos discriminate against them due to their physical appearance and cultural differences.
