Death is part of our lives

by desert_princess - last update: Aug 27, 2007

RIP

Graveyard of Spittal at the Drau river / Austria
10 june 2006 - "In loving memory of you,Kinga (VTer kinga_freespirit)-an amazing traveller that hitchiked the world - you have been a great inspiration - Rest In Peace sister :(( We will miss you!!! .....VT forum Topic

To My Guardian Angel...

Thank you for watching after me,
I know I hasn't been easy with me,
I always manage to do those "no, no,no" things
I can't sit for a long in one place
I bet I am giving you a hard time once in awhile.
With the years I have grown wiser...
Thank you for giving me chances
and the eyes to see them
I never regretted the choices I made in life...

Thank you for being by my side....
In funny and sad times...

For those of you that are not anymore with us
we'll be together again one day....
Nauders Graveyard by Easter

"Alles was man MUSS ist sterben"Austrian saying

"MUST" is a bad bad word...'I must do this", " I must do that "...how many of you have a "must" life?
The things we "Must" are only a few ;
1. to respect and love those precious to us
2. to let them know how much we are happy to have them in our life before it's too late...
3.To enjoy the beauty of the moment - carpe diem , would say some...
4.to keep on travelling and discovering..
5. to do good and not harm on our way
6. to die one day....

here I start my unusual idea on uploading graveyards and tombstones. But some places are really well kept gardens where our ancestors are resting...And as every place has a graveyard - go visit it - you will learn alot about the living....

"you can tell the state of a culture when you know how they bury their dead" thanxx Erlend

we"ll all be ashes one day, some sooner, some later, and than
it won"t matter how much money we had ,or what car we drived...
but whose lifes we affected....

I love the Graveyard of Nauders. For it is guarded by the majestic Silveretta ridge that you see on the back , and is being surrounded by impressive mountains that rise up to 3000m by all sides.

Long forgotten Jewish Tombstones covered with Ivy in the graveyard of Varna / Bulgaria .The Ground seems to have moved as one of them is leaning towards the other...

Graveyard in Landeck Austria

By taking a closer look,on the bottom right there is a white tombstone with a moon and a star on red background. Is white color sacred in Islam?

DOORS, ARCHES, PORTALS and GATES of EUROPE

"La maison est le tombeau des vivants" - the house is the coffin of the living .
Touareg proverb

I have read this proverb recenly , and now it clicked in my head . I was thinking :"what is it so fascinating I find about doors?". Maybe this could answer it....the door is the escape from the cuffin....or the entrance to it . The entrance to our fortresses , our little worlds that we keep private from others. Door make us feel safe.

Doors divide two worlds - the seen from the unseen...some we enter ,others remain locked....
