Flowers in Kelowna

by dabidc - last update: Jun 5, 2005

Great climate, beautiful flowers.

Golf CourseIrises..
Harvest valley Golf Club has a man made waterfall and pond, surrounded by flowers and in view of the Restaurant and Club House.
Rhododendrons in flower

Proud of their horticultural achievements.

The Golfers may not have time to see or to appreciate the flowers and foliage near the Restaurant, except if they have a meal.

Yet the ones we saw were more interested in business matters than those of nature. Maybe one only appreciates the flowers when one is retired.
More Rhododendron.

Impressive colour and a good time to visit.

I originally lived in N.E England and it was a normal sight to see flowers in bloom, most of the year.

Then in Calgary, with too much Winter, it was a challenge to grow many plants, some never grew in the harsh climate.

Now it is a pleasure to see the flowers and that is why I have so many photos for Vt.

Hopefully for the pleasure of many VT'ers.
The Pond and the Golfers.

The man made waterfall and pond.

Is it possible to tell if the golfer in the lead is also the golfer that is winning or won the round?

Does his purposeful stride show that he is a leader?
Blossoms by the treeful.

Guisachan gardens.

The gardens are at Gordon and Guisachan. Open to the Public, Heritage building is a reastuarant available and donations accepted. Otherwise no fee.
Description of next photo

Some Heritage information.

Avenue of Cedars.

The Cedars form an enclosed avenue.

A rare sight to see some Cedars inside the city. They are attached to the Guisachan gardens but the land does belong to someone else.
A view of the gardens.

The trellis gives shade and a seat.

There are several places to sit and view the many flowers and trees in the garden. When visiting such a garden it is best to walk slowly and take in not only the blooms, the size, the colour but also the smells of the flowers and the shrubs.

Enjoy the many facets of the gardens, some plants in shade some in the sun. there are birds and butterflies and beauty all around you.

Joyful day--natural beauty of lovely flowers, the lake, vineyards. Sad about dreadful fire in 03; thank goodness it is slowly returning. Orchard Golf Club restaurant sounds & looks splendid. l smiled at your tip's title: "Sitting by the Dock of the Bay"
