The little cave under the main seats is for a second, smaller screen, for viewing childrens' movies. That's right, the second year of this theatre, and it's already turned into a multiplex. |
| | During the show, they put reindeer skins on the sits. This both warms your butt, and keeps you from getting wet. |
| | You get a really good view from the staged seating. |
| | The front gate between the actual theatre and the parking lot is built by block of ice and then shaped into the festival logo. Hence, all visitors must walk through the logo. This photo was taken while the thing was under construction. |
| | Students from the high school arts class not only took part in putting the actual theatre together, but they also helped shape the front gate. |
| | Once the students have marked the blocks according to the pattern they want, a man with chainsaw cuts along the lines. |
| | Since the small screen is inside a cave, it is dark enough to have daytime viewings. It is also a little warmer to sit inside. This photo is taken from the screen, looking out towards the gate. |
| | The entire theatre complex is actually pretty big - and imagine, they have to rebuild it every year, because it melts away only weeks after the festival is over. |
