Amaizing !!! How sweet is your corn...Round the end of July it's ready to start picking the sweetcorn or young maize. Just boil for 10 mins then eat with a little garlic butter or sourcream with chopped onions, a little garlic paste, a little ketchup, a sprinkling of paprika powder and leave the sauce for 10 mins in the fridge...MMMMMM.My lips are watering already. Also I have the zuchinni(Squash), eggplants, tomatoes and peppers ready too...Oh dear now my tummy is rumbling...gotta go and see what's in the fridge now...

July 2005

My latest project is building a wine cellar/well house. You can see the beginning of the building in the middle left of the picture below the house. I have ground water about 15 metres down which I plan to buy a pump to use for watering the garden and there will be a bit of space to put stocks from the garden in the winter, also for sampling my home made plum 'palinka' (snapps) from my plum trees. I am very integrated into the neighbourhood and have the help of my neighbours with the garden and lucky to have a builder and a plumber as neighbours too as a house like the one I bought always needs attention.

Last week was the end of July and we had a heat wave with a high of +38 .....but 3 days ago it started to pour and it has been rainning non stop and the temprature has dropped to +19,,Brrrrrr. Still my garden is not complaining.

Hi Tim! Thanks for visiting my hp, Boulogne and Bp page. Boulogne is a lovely town, not only ferries! About my Bp tip, it's only the result of a research for a poster in the forum. I went to Bp by train. Thanks for the info, anyway.
